Excerpt from Seeress

“I need to show you something,” I said and reached under my T-shirt for his seal pendant.
“Apologize first.”
“Torin, this is not the time for games.”
“Who said I’m playing?” He braced himself on the doorframe and lowered his head until he and I were on the same eye level. “You told me to stay away from you. Unforgiveable. You implied our relationship might not survive. Totally wrong and cruel. But the worst part, you said your feelings for me make you weak.” His eyebrows shot up. “Weak? Seriously? What in Hel’s Mist does that mean?” He was furious.
“Are you forgetting what happened before I said those things?”
“So no apology?”
“No.” I was dying to, but he had to understand I wasn’t a breakable doll.
He stepped back and slammed the door in my face.
My jaw dropped. No, he didn’t. That arrogant man didn’t just do that. I turned to walk downstairs so angry I wanted to chuck something. Halfway down the stairs, I stopped and glared at my phone, wishing I could send him a nasty text. Too bad he wouldn’t see it.
I stomped back.
When I burst into his room, he was waiting. His eyes said he’d known I’d be back.
“Let me tell you exactly what I think of your tantrum, Valkyrie. It was unforgiveable. You don’t slam the door in my face. Ever. You do it again and I’ll… I’ll…” I took a step back as he closed the gap between us. “What are you—?”

Review of Runes

Wow, this was totally more than I honestly expected it to be. Yet another great paranormal romance novel for me. Ednah Walters created an outstanding group of characters for this book that both intrigued me and kept me wanting to know more about each character. The premise of her story was awesome. From beginning to end it was fast paced and full of drama.

The romance in this book was perfect for me. It was not instalove on any side and the love triangle was pretty awesome. Both love interest were perfect in different ways for Raine. I loved Raine as a character. She was not whiny, she was bold and outright sassy. She kept a mysterious vibe to her that not many characters can do for me. She had the oh so normal teenage life with a cool bestfriend and nice boyfriend, but had a crush on a not so normal immortal guy. Eirik at times seemed like an idiot to me. I feel like he just lost out on a great relationship with Raine out of fear. He should have stepped to her years ago, but it was his lost. Torin was definitely the hottie in this book. OMG I'm totally a Torin fan. He was mysterious, snarky, jealous and just down right seductive. That scene with him watching Raine in the dress at the mall was pretty crazy. Cora is the kind of bestfriend every girl has. Always daring, bold and hilarious. I loved Cora to pieces.

Ingrid seemed like the type of girl that didn't know what she wanted to do. One moment she was sweet and the next she was rude and mean. I think she felt torn between her job, her sister and just still learning to look at mortals as nothing but work. Andris irked my nerves. He was the guy that stalked Raine as a game. I just couldn't stand the way he talked about Mortals and viewed them. Maliina, his girlfriend, was mean as hell! I don't care if a Norn took over her mind she was plain nasty and I wish Torin would have snapped her neck again. This idea of the three Norns, Marj, Catie and Jeannette was intriguing. Norns being in control of your past, present and future is just like fate. Anytime fate is involved in a book it's always interesting for me.

As for Torin, Andris, Maliina and Ingrid being Valkyries -- that blew my mind. I never expected them to be that of all things. Gods or from the future maybe, but when Andris poured his heart out to Raine and explained it all that took me for a loop.

Finding out who really marked Raine first and learning about her family line is crazy. I never expected that to happen. I always expected her father to be the one especially with how he built the bond with her during her preemie days. And those damn Norns messing with Torin's memory -- ugh -- so not cool.

I'm interested to see where this goes for Raine and if she will have a relationship with Torin.

Review of Immortals

Immortals was a perfect sequel to Runes. It follows Raine and Torin as they try to rekindle what the Norns took of Torin's memory. As much as Torin tried to ignore Raine, he knew something was missing and something was off. With the help of Andris, Torin and Raine found themselves back in love. In the mix of all this Raine's father is not feeling too well and to find out what really took place when he was saved by Torin shocked me. I totally love Torin much more.

The issues with Eirik was insane. To know that Maliina was the one turning him evil pissed me off. I thought she was dead, but to learn she wasn't and that she was working for Hel, Eirik's mother was just frustrating. Disguising herself as Cora while the real Cora was in a psych ward hurt. Poor Cora, I hope things are okay for her and definitely hope to read more. I hope her friendship with Eirik and Raine is saved and not severed.

Raine was total heroine and to be a powerful seeress must be incredible. Eirik learning the truth and going home to his grandparents is a good move I think and the love between Torin and Raine is just absolutely amazing.

I totally loved this more than Runes and hope the next book is just as good or better.

Review of Grimnirs

I'm not really sure what to say about this novella. It was definitely an okay read. It started off with a 3.5 stars, but that ending when it picked up earned it a 4 stars.

Grimnirs follows Cora after her release from PMI psych ward. Ever since the accident that occurred at a swim meet (read Runes) she was able to see ghosts, Valkyrie and Grimnirs. She confided in her parents, but they put her in a psych ward. Now that she is out she is trying to figure everything out. Cora meets a Grimnir named Echo. In book 2, Immortals, Maliina transformed herself into Cora while Cora was in PMI so Echo thought Cora was Maliina and despite Cora telling him she was not around, he didn't believe her until she was cut. When he found out the truth his love for Cora was too strong and he vowed to protect her from the Grimnirs, Hel and Maliina.

I loved that Cora still was sassy and bold with her attitude. She didn't get scared easily and never held back when talking to Echo. Their romance was cute because his obsession for her made her fall for him, but when he found out the truth he backed away only to fall harder. Reminded me of how Torin and Raine fell in love.

Poor Eirik. To get dumped by both girls he love hurts and truly sucks. The fact that he is going to meet his mother Hel scares me. He believes his love life is to reflect that of his mothers and I'm afraid that he will let his dark side take over. And the way he told Cora he will always come back for her makes me think he will hold her hostage like his mom did to his father. I just feel so bad for him, but I hope he doesn't become like his mother. I wish he would have went to Asgard instead.

Andris is still a jerk. Totally loved his conversation and remarks with Cora. Completely funny. I love how Ingrid explained what happened to Cora prior to her going to PMI and explaining what her sister Maliina did to her. I'm glad that Lavania saved Cora and turned her. It just makes all the friendship and connection between Cora, Raine and Eirik a bit more interesting.

OMG I hope Maliina is seriously done for. She is a piss of crap. I don't get why she is obsessed with ruining everyone life over Andris being attracted to Raine. She is an insecure pompous female and hope Andris killed her. She had no right marking Cora in book 1, Runes, and had no right to pretend to be Cora at all. She is a sick child.

Overall, Grimnirs was an okay read and it does help to understand more about Cora and what took place in Immortals, book 2. I am ready to move on to the final book in the series and see how it all ends for Cora, Raine and Eirik.

Review of Seeress

Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!

Did this seriously just happen. Ednah Walters is a freaking genius! The feels are there and I'm just in awe at the moment. Please give me a minute to collect my thoughts and emotions.

*20 mins later*

I cannot believe how this ended off. I am totally in love with this conclusion. I love the plot twist at the end. So unbelievable the way these characters were double spies.

First off, Raine is still as fierce as she wants to be. I love that she comes into her powers more in this book and learns to control them and use them without overstepping the boundaries. Being that she's a seeress she is more powerful than the gods, goddesses, norns, immortals and Valkyries. Raine never backed down from anyone throughout this book…not Torin or the norns. She stood up for herself and I love how she grew into her new self.

Torin is still such a hunk. I loved that I got to see more of his emotional or "sensitive" in this book when details about his mother and father was given. It showed that he had compassion for others and not just whipped for Raine. It made me love and appreciate him way more as a character.

Andris is much more lovable in this book even though he can still be snarky. Cora is still badass and knows how to use her gift much better. Echo wasn't around much but after that double date he is so romantic. The new characters Femi, Gina and Rita were quite interesting to say the least.

Eirik sort of pissed me off majority of the time he was in the book. Just how he came back to school and what he did to Mr and Mrs Cooper just disgusted me. However, he saved face and remains a loved character for me. The Earl, Torin's father, is the king of all douchebags. I don't get why he had to exist. Granted learning the true identity of his father and what he did to his mother made the book more intense I just wanted him dead.

The way everything went down when Eirik arrived totally made me mad. I was ready to drop the book, but then finding out Blaine, Femi and the witches betrayed her was even more revolting. However, that plot twist -- man oh man. I just can't believe how it all went down.

Overall, Seeress was the most amazing conclusion ever and I am beyond happy with how the trilogy ended!
