Synopsis:
In a land where three suns almost never set, a fledgling killer joins a school of assassins, seeking vengeance against the powers who destroyed her family.

Daughter of an executed traitor, Mia Corvere is barely able to escape her father’s failed rebellion with her life. Alone and friendless, she hides in a city built from the bones of a dead god, hunted by the Senate and her father’s former comrades. But her gift for speaking with the shadows leads her to the door of a retired killer, and a future she never imagined.

Now, a sixteen year old Mia is apprenticed to the deadliest flock of assassins in the entire Republic — the Red Church. Treachery and trials await her with the Church’s halls, and to fail is to die. But if she survives to initiation, Mia will be inducted among the chosen of the Lady of Blessed Murder, and one step closer to the only thing she desires.

Revenge.

Quote(s) I Like:
"What does oshk mean?...it's something to do with sex then...Right, make love to their sweethearts, fuck their whores, or any other combination thereof." - Mia

"Peacock's mouth opened as she introduced her boot to his partner's groin, kicking him hard enough to cripple his unborn children." - Mia

"You poisoned the entire garrison?... A touch?...Look don't be offended if I do all the cooking out there, aye?" - Tric

"Apologies. I appear to have misplaced the fucks I give for what you think." - Mia to Jess

"Arses are like wine, Mister Kindly. Better too little than too much." - Mia

My Thoughts:
Holy hell!!!! I cannot put into words my obsession. I just can't even think right now. I'm left feeling empty and hungover. I need the sequel right now!!!!!! Jay Kristoff has immediately become a auto buy author for me.

Nevernight is absolutely amazing! The world is phenomenal, the characters amazing, the gruesome detailing gripping. This is such a dark and sinister novel. Very heavy --especially with the few "sexy time" scenes written in this. I would definitely say this a MATURE YA novel and not your normal fluffy YA read.

Mia is freaking badass! I love her in every way. From start to finish she had a goal and set her mind to it. She never once wavered in her resolve. She kept to her goal and even when it looked like she failed she somehow got over the hurtles and passed. She was freaking hilarious -- she always kept me laughing with her silly remarks and wittiness. She may have only been 16, but she was powerful. I loved how she managed to deal with everyone through it this book. Her powers as a Darkin are freaking amazing. I'm still trying to grasp the whole concept of Darkins, but I just love Mia.

Where do I even begin with the other characters -- I mean Tric was awesome. I loved him and totally was crushing on him and Mia together. Ash, man oh man, she was a shocker for me. The truth about her and her brother was totally unexpected. Hush was creepy as hell. I thought he was the one doing on the killing. Jess may have been an annoying cunt, but she was a great ally in the end.

The Red Church is no damn joke. I mean their training was deadly and no pun intended. Either you pass your lessons or die trying -- literally. I couldn't image being their on a daily just to become a Blade -- freaking insane. I loved Cassius even though I wished he was still around for the sequel.

I'm definitely intrigued by that ending with Remus speaking on Mia's brother, Ash on the run, Mia being a Blade and the truth behind the Darkins. This was just so damn good!!! I need the sequel like yesterturn (pun intended). This is an amazing fantasy novel. Not much magical elements to it -- but it's kickass.

Totally recommend this!
