Synopsis:
Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

My Rating:

My Thoughts:
This was an absolute beautiful read from start to finish. The romance, the characters and the issues were so profound to me. Another great win for Armentrout in her NA romance novel. She once again proved why I love her as an author of so many fabulous books.

Avery has been dealt a pretty shitty hand at life as far as family, friends and experiences go. She had a terrible experience at only 14 years old at a Halloween party and 5 years later (age 19) she still is affected by it. She moved to West VA to attend college to be away from her family and people in her town. I thought Avery was quiet bold with how she handled most of her experience. I hated how her parents treated her after the incident, I mean what kind of parent truly does that to their child. I hated them. I loved watching Avery grow into herself as a freshman and really learn to accept that her experience is apart of her, but didn't consume her.

Cameron was absolutely phenomenal. I drooled over him a few times throughout this book because he was so tender, attentive, caring, friendly and sweet towards Avery. Cam was definitely a different kind of guy. He was aware of how handsome he was and he knew girls were easy to get for him, but he definitely had a humbleness to him when it came to Avery. Cam did have a temper, but I think his temper was warranted in many occasions. Cam is just downright perfection and his family totally rocks.

The romance was too amazing for me between Avery and Cam. I loved how Cam went after Avery nonstop and wouldn't really let up. I loved how they built a friendship that really blossomed into a loving relationship. The attraction between the two was undeniable. The way they evolved was perfection. Happy for them both.

I loved Jacob and Britt so much. They were both so fun, loving and caring. This Molly chick pissed me off, but that ending was beautiful.

The issues of family and rape are definitely prominent, but they made this story really turn into something that was profound for the main character. It showed courage, strength and even went into real love for the main character. If you're looking for a good romance with some light on serious issues, this is definitely a good one. This may trigger some people, so if you are faint at heart, don't read this.
